Lots of little girls love fairies and daydream about having pretty eyes and wings. Even older girls wish they could be as charming and svelte as these graceful winged creatures. Tinkerbell bedding is a popular option for decorating girl’s bedrooms because Disney’s Tinkerbell is one of the world’s most recognized fairies.

There are lots of reasons why Tinkerbell is famous. The primary reason is Peter Pan, the mischievous boy who pranced around in green and wouldn’t grow up. The story is very popular with both boys and girls. Boys like the clever kid who can fly and outsmart adults, while girls may feel the beginnings of their first crush. But as there are many male characters and only two females, girls often prefer Tinkerbell because she’s tiny and has wings, which is very cool in their eyes.

Tinkerbell is feisty. She stands up for herself and won’t let anyone bully her, despite her small size. This may unconsciously attract little girls and even not-so-little girls who feel like their size is a disadvantage. She’s great because she’s feminine, but she’s still tough.

For older fans, Tinkerbell is a favorite because she’s young. Wendy may be Peter’s girl of choice, but she’s kind of grown up and precocious. Her brothers and the Lost Boys see her more as a mother figure than a playmate, which is not necessarily what girls at that age want from boys.

Tinkerbell is also like a real person. She’s not saintly or ideal like Wendy is. She throws tantrums, loses her temper, schemes against Wendy and even betrays her to Captain Hook because Wendy is stealing Peter’s attention. Sometimes, people like characters that are a little bad, because it makes them feel better about themselves.

Another good thing about Tinkerbell is that although she does some bad things along the way, she turns out well in the end. She regrets getting Wendy and the rest into trouble, and even sacrifices herself to save them and regain Peter’s trust.

Since Tinkerbell is such a well-loved character, and Peter Pan is such a famous bedtime story, it’s only natural that many parents – and their children – are happy to choose from the many Tinkerbell bedding ensembles around in their beautiful colors of lilac and pink.

And I’m sure they keep the bedroom windows wedged tight at night, just in case!
