What Are Go Carts
Go Carts (often spelled Go Karts) are fun for people of all ages. Go Karts are often found in amusement parks, or other recreational places, with special tracks built specifically for the type of Go Kart that is going to be used there. Most tracks are flat, race car style tracks with various turns and curves. In some places there are unusual tracks that are elevated, like the one in Branson, MO that was built to have a spiral tower for the carts to go up.
Most people, when they hear the words go cart, think of this type of Go Carts even though there are a few other types. One other type of Go Cart is used as an Off-Road vehicle, almost like an ATV or Four wheeler. Another type of Cart is used for racing. Go Carts that are used in amusement parks are typically modeled after the racing carts. The major difference between these two is what speed they can reach. Some racing carts can reach speeds of 160 mph while Go Carts used in amusement parks are usually limited to 15 mph. Besides the difference in speed, both types have different engines as well.
Most recreational carts are electric and need to be charged every so often, thats why most places that use recreational carts have two sets so that one set can be used while the other is charging. Go carts are simple to use so that even young children can use them, though there is a height limit that prohibits extremely young children from driving the carts. Recreational carts have a steering wheel and two pedals, one on each side of the steering wheel, and they are usually colored green for the accelerator pedal and red for the break pedal.
Most places have two kinds of carts to use, a single seat cart and a double seat cart. The double seat cart is usually used for two people that want to go together or a parent and their child that is too young to drive a cart. Go Carts are a lot of fun for the whole family and even educational for children and teens that will need to learn how to drive eventually.
