Commercial bar stools can be purchased from many different retailers both online and from brick & mortar commercial furniture retailers.  If you are looking for furniture you should first visit a local commercial furniture showroom.  This should be done independently of any Internet research.

It is extremely important to establish a good working relationship with your commercial bar stool dealer.  Commercial furniture receives much more wear and tear in comparison to the residential bar stool counterpart.  For example, in a commercial environment paint finishes are more prone to being nicked from heavy usage.

Heavy usage can result in screws being lost along with wearing of the seating surfaces.  When you are purchasing commercial bar stools consider seating surfaces which are non-porous.  Non porous seating surfaces are much more likely to resist issues from uv radiation (which can cause fabrics to dull and fade), along with stains.  Consider choosing stainless steel as a seating surface.  Stainless steel can be easily cleaned and does not require a lot of maintenance to keep your commercial bar stools looking fresh and new.

If you are purchasing a large number of commercial bar stools you may want to first consider purchasing one or two as a sample.  Depending on manufacturer quality standards there may be deviations in each chair.  Once you are satisfied with the initial bar stool sample you may want to purchase a few extras above and beyond your required quantity.  Chair makers often change styles, and your chair may not be available next year.  Buying a few extra commercial bar stools can save you the hassle of trying to find a source later, should the stool manufacturer discontinue that particular model.  If the commercial bar stool uses proprietary fasteners (i.e. custom length screws) you may want to purchase extra screws as well in anticipation of screws falling out.
