Home sellers in today’s market have three options for selling their home. They can either sell through an agent, sell their house themselves, or sell a house quickly by allowing an investor to buy it. Selling through an agent is often a lengthy and stressful process. Not only must you select a trustworthy and talented agent, you must make sure that that agent considers the sale of your home a priority and is taking the right steps to market it properly. Even with the right agent and at the right price it may take months for your house to sell due to the slow down in the market. Lots of people or downsizing leading to greater competition in the seller’s market. The tightening of credit and economical woes has led to a decrease in the buyer’s market as well. Home sellers now need to compete not only against each other but also against affordable new homes and homes for rent.
It’s for this reason that more and more people are turning to investors to take the property off their hands. Due to this new niche and an influx of late night tv talk shows touting the advantages of real estate investing, there are most likely hundreds of investors in your area, cash in hand ready to purchase your property. You may be thinking “Is the opportunity to sell my home fast worth working with a potential con artist?” How can you trust an investor, who’s obviously purchasing your home to generate profit, to be professional and offer you a fair price. How do you know that all the things they’re promising- a quick close, a cash offer, are real?
There are a few ways to quickly assess an investors credibility. First of all you should do a little research on them look them up online for any warnings/ bad reviews. Any organizations they’re a part of could give you a good indication of their professionalism or integrity. When working with an investor expect a slightly lower offer, but also anticipate (in general) a quick and easy close!
