The world has changed a great deal over the last two decades. The Internet broke down the walls of oppression and the decadence of corrupt governments and leaders. It has given us the ability to communicate with people from different ethic backgrounds, different cultures, and different ways of thinking. The World Wide Web has given us the means to learn more about our planet and more about life. Indeed the Internet is probably also responsible, in a small way, for allowing the gay community to come out and not feel ashamed any longer. This naturally led to same-sex marriages and in the beginning I’m sure many, so called straight people that were invited to these weddings, initially questioned one another.
A lesbian wedding ceremony and reception is no different from the traditional man and women wedding. No doubt, these two people of the female persuasion make their vows before they are legally declared married. The reception that follows is more than likely, a gay affair with straight and gay guests mixing as though they had been friends for years – in many cases they probably have been. On the tables of white cloth with red napkins, some of the best wedding centerpieces would give the gather friends and family topics of conversation until the initial ice melted.
What kind of wedding centerpieces would a lesbian married couple like to have at their reception? Some would have their own ideas, while others would leave everything to a centerpiece designer. Centerpieces designers, for the most part, are women and asked to design the best wedding centerpieces for a lesbian wedding; many of these women would probably be honored. The designer may feel free to create something that is out of the norm – after all, up until recently, this type of wedding was not the norm.
With a newfound creativeness she would produce some of the best wedding centerpieces to sit in the center of the tables and the guests would marvel at her talented brilliance. The dress for this wonderful day would be format – with the bride and bride dressed in either the same clothing or perhaps one partner choosing to wear male attire. There would be the usual speeches and rehearsed jokes, and everyone would have a wonderful time as the vows to unite to women in love have taken place in such a beautiful ceremony.
