Organizing a birthday party for nerds should be easy and a blast. The first thing most people think of when nerd is mentioned is pocket protectors and eyeglasses with tape in the middle that holds them together. These tips will turn the whole guest list into nerds.

Party Invitations - Send each guest an invitation folded up in a pocket protector.

Basic Decorations – Really bright colors would be best for this theme but any color would work for the nerd party theme. Plaid would also be neat for the tablecloth. When you decide on your color you will need to get a tablecloth in the color and add paper plates, cups and napkins.

The Nerd Cake – Decorate the cake as a huge pocket protector. You can use a rectangle cake and decorate it with the outline of a pocket protector and even have some decorations of pens in the pocket protector or even use real ink pens.

The Table Center Piece – Get a vase and fill it full of pens and pencils and tie a nerdy looking tie around it for the ribbon.

Goodie Bags – Let a pocket protector be the goodie bag and fill it with a pen or pencil and a small pack of candy Nerds.

Name Place Cards – Find old glasses from thrift stores or use plastic glasses and tape the nose piece of each one with duct tape or masking tape. and write the party guests name on the lense.

Dress the Part - Have your guests come to the party dressed as nerds. Give a prize to the one with the nerdiest outfit, the brightest tie and the shortest pants. Those wearing suspenders get an extra goodie! Prizes could be dictionaries, staplers or boxes of paper clips. You could even give the winner a pile of papers loaded with information.

You can have a lot of fun just organizing birthday party entertainment for a nerd, not to mention the fun to be had at the party.
