For many men, working out at gym can be impractical due to issues such as distance from the home, commute time, or other daily obligations. Working out at home can not only save time in terms of commute, but can also allow more time to be spent around one’s family while working out. There are some great chest exercises for men that can be done in the home with little or no equipment. In this article we’ll take look at a few that will help to strengthen and tone the chest muscles.
There are two great chest exercises for men without weights that can be done easily and virtually anywhere. The first exercise involves using a band, also known as an exercise band or resistance band. These bands can be purchased at many retail stores, sporting goods stores, and online. There is a difference in quality when it comes to exercise bands, with the higher quality bands costing as much as four times as the lessor quality bands. A band can be used to simulate a chest press exercise. This is typically done from the standing position. Bands typically come with a small piece of material that can be looped around the band. The loop is then placed in between a door and then shut. When this is done, the user can then pull on the band and simulate the chest press. The chest press is typically done with one foot forward and the other foot back, to create a more stable base. The band is then pushed out in front of the chest in a slow and controlled movement, with the person continuously breathing. Another exercise that can be done using the same band and same footing is known as a pectoral fly. In this exercise, the person maintains the same footing as in the chest press, but extends the arms out to the side wide, before bringing them together in front.
Both the chest press and pectoral fly are great exercises for men that can be done at home with little equipment. A good resistance band will cost less than twenty dollars and provide years of usage. They can also be used for numerous other exercises that target all different muscle groups. For men looking to improve low muscle tone in the chest area, these exercises can be very beneficial. Keep in mind that it is always a good idea to check with your personal doctor before beginning any exercise program.
