If you are fed up with your current job and thinking of changing your career then there is one possible option that you might consider doing, especially if you have a tendency to be a caring and patient individual.  That option is to become an LPN or a licensed practical nurse (note if this term is not familiar to you and you live in either Texas or California it may be that you are more familiar with the phrase Licensed Vocational Nurse, or LVN).

So why is becoming an LPN such an opportunity.  Well the fact is that healthcare provision across the country is changing and becoming more sophisticated all the time.  This has meant that the typical healthcare team in whatever sector has changed and developed strength in depth.  What this means is that the demand for LPN’s has risen consistently in recent years and to put it bluntly there are not enough student LPN candidates to meet that demand.  Worse still, the demand is set to continue further.  This means of course that there will be more and more LPN jobs going unfilled in the future and as a result the average LPN salary is likely to move up very nicely.

So how do you go about qualifying to become and LPN.  Well the answer is that it is relatively straightforward.  There are likely to be quite a few LPN training programs in your state and indeed in all the other states of the US.  You can even get your LPN training online these days which can make study considerably easier.
